The Grinnell-Newburg Community School District school board members will be reviewing many data points to determine the next steps in a transition plan due to the closure of Davis Elementary at the conclusion of this school year. Linked below you will find several models that are options for movement of students and staff. The models look at how many students and teaching staff would be impacted by selecting that specific plan. The models also show the number of transitions students in each grade level would make in their K-12 student career. In addition, the charts show how many portable classrooms would be needed to create enough classrooms at Bailey Park or Fairview to complete the plan. The board determined that Models A and C would be eliminated from consideration as they would require portable classrooms for general education. The board has determined that they would only pursue options that utilized portable classrooms for specials that individual students would be in for a portion of the day, but not the entirety of the school day. Below is also a link to a google form to collect questions from the community for the board to consider in making this important decision.
