Last week GHS art classes went on a field trip to Grinnell College Museum of Art. Ms. Tilly Woodward led students through a Visual Thinking Strategy to discuss meaning and interpretations of various works of art. Students then chose a work from the current exhibitions and completed an art analysis by using evidence and reasoning to develop an interpretation. This is one of the ways that art students work on developing Visual Literacy, an essential skill for decoding visual media.
